I was email this list of free word press plug-ins recently and had a chance to check them out (a few I already had. So I thought I would share with all of you

some great word press plu-ins you will appreciate

Akismet – Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web
service to see if they look like spam or not. You need a
WordPress.com API key to use this service. You can review the spam
it catches under “Manage” and it automatically deletes old spam
after 15 days. By Matt Mullenweg.

Fix Greedy Rewrite Category – Unsets the category_name variable if
the year variable is set. By Alex King.

Auto-hyperlink URLS – Auto-hyperlink text URLs in post content and
comment text to the URL they reference. Does NOT try to hyperlink
already hyperlinked URLs. Improves WordPress’s default
make_clickable function, along with adding some configuration

Adsense-Deluxe – Place Google AdSense ads in your WordPress Posts.
Requires WordPress 1.5 or higer. For complete usage and
configuration click on AdsenseDeluxe under the “Options” menu. By

Get Recent Comments – Display the most recent comments or
trackbacks with your own formatting in the sidebar. Visit
